Audio On How Raising Your Standards Can Help You Reach Your Goals Contributed by Our Friend Evan Carmichael
In today's episode of 7 Good Minutes, we talk about How Raising Your Standards Can Help You Reach Your Goals.
We'll discuss why it's so important to set high standards for yourself, and how doing so can help you achieve success in all areas of your life. So grab a cup of coffee and settle in for 7 good minutes of self-improvement.
Have you ever stopped to think about the standards you have for yourself? Are they high or low? If they're low, chances are that you're not achieving the level of success that you could be. This is because when you have low standards, you're essentially telling yourself that it's okay to settle for less than what you deserve.
You're saying that it's okay to put forth the minimal effort and still get by. But why settle for just getting by when you could be excelling?
Think about it this way: if you were applying for a job, would you rather work for a company that had high standards or low standards? A company with high standards is likely to be more successful than a company with low standards. The same principle applies to individuals. When you have high standards, you push yourself to be better.
You encourage yourself to put forth extra effort in order to reach your goals. And as a result, you're more likely to achieve success.
So how can you go about raising your standards? First, take a look at the areas of your life where you feel like you've been settling for less than what you deserve. Are there any areas where you know you could be doing better? If so, make a commitment to yourself to start putting forth the effort necessary to reach your full potential.
Secondly, identify some role models or mentors who have achieved success in the areas where you want to improve. What do they do differently than everyone else? How do they think and behave on a daily basis? By emulating their behavior, you can learn how to raise your own standards and achieve success in your life.
If you want to be successful in life, it's important that you raise your standards. Make a commitment today to start setting higher standards for yourself in all areas of your life. Be patient and consistent in your efforts, and soon enough you'll start seeing real results.
