Audio On What To Do When You're Feeling Empty Contributed by Our Friends at Psych2Go
In today's episode of 7 Good Minutes, we talk about what to do when you're feeling empty.
We all go through periods of feeling lost. Maybe you've recently graduated from college and are trying to find your first real job. Maybe you've been in the same job for years and are starting to feel like it's time for a change. Maybe you're going through a difficult breakup or divorce. Whatever the reason, there are times in all of our lives when we feel lost, uncertain, and empty. If you're currently feeling this way, know that you're not alone and there are things you can do to start feeling better.
1. Accept that it's normal to feel lost at times.
The first step to finding yourself is accepting that it's normal to feel lost at times. We all go through periods of transition and change, and it's during these times that we often feel the most lost. Remember that whatever you're experiencing is temporary and that this too shall pass.
2. Reach out to your support system.
An important part of finding yourself is reaching out to your support system—the people who love and care about you and want to see you happy and thrive. Talk to your friends and family members about how you're feeling. Chances are, they'll be more than happy to offer their support, advice, and understanding.
3. Get involved in activities that make you happy.
Finding yourself also involves getting involved in activities that make you happy—activities that give your life meaning and purpose. For some people, this might mean volunteering for a cause they're passionate about or taking up a new hobby. Find something that brings joy into your life and stick with it!
Remember that you're not alone and accept that it's normal to feel lost at times, reach out to your support system, and get involved in activities that make you happy.
Do these things and sooner or later, you'll start to feel like yourself again.
